Choosing a story for tonight
For bedtime, choose a story you know and a length that suits the evening. Fable Stories pairs animated adventures with written introductions, character notes, and morals that an adult can read aloud. The written pages are story companions, not complete video transcripts.
The Bird with Golden Feathers has a 4-minute, 43-second animation about generosity and greed. The Lion and the Clever Rabbit runs 6 minutes, 30 seconds and explores intelligence and pride. The Monkey and the Crocodile runs 7 minutes, 49 seconds and explores friendship and trust. These are video runtimes; reading time will vary.
Preview an adventure before choosing it for a young listener. Our fables include danger, fear, betrayal, or difficult consequences, and every child responds differently. If suspense feels too lively at bedtime, read a short character description and discuss the moral instead of watching the animation.
Try a simple routine: introduce the characters, read a short passage, and invite your child to name one kind or thoughtful choice. Close with a familiar question such as ‘What would you say to this character?’ A shared conversation can be enough; there is no need to finish every part in one sitting.
